som3’s commitment to philanthropy and supporting worthy charities was exercised again last week with a significant donation to support our Ops Director, Neil Bryers who is running the London Marathon on Sunday (3rd Oct) to support the Together Trust. Neil planned to run the marathon in April 2020, but Covid put the kibosh on that, as well as the rearranged date of October 2020. So, the third time is the charm as they say and having trained 3 times for the marathon, he’s ready, albeit feeling a bit jaded from a recent Southern office outing to welcome new staff member Becca Phillips!
som3 got behind Neil in his training with our recent Team Building weekend climbing mountains in Snowdonia. Neil described the 7-hour hike and scramble that almost killed some of our slightly less marathon-ready staff members as great for stretching his hamies! Something our MD, Steve Morrisey vehemently disagreed with as he nursed his twisted ankle down the never ending, treacherous, rocky, ankle killing descent. We’d like to say Steve kept his sense of humour throughout but… However, we’ll take none of the party getting winched off the mountain as a win!
The Together Trust are a great charity that for 150 years have been championing and caring for people with disabilities, autism and complex health needs. And providing life-changing support for looked-after children and care-experienced people. They help children, adults, parents and carers, delivering individual care, support and education to thousands of people each year.
